I just heard this line on the news. I immediately thought: 'Why not?' I'm sure its fallacious but what is the name of the fallacy?

This is a assertion or claim, so it is a matter of fact rather than reason. The reasoning behind WHY one believes it may uncover one or more fallacies, or perhaps just more claims. For example:
Education is the easiest of things for our government to do (claim). Therefore, if we can't get it right, we can't get anything right (exaggerated claim that uses absolutes rather than probabilistic language).
