Confusing Persuaded with Coerced?

I had had some arguments like this...

Friend: I would not have done X if you had not talked me into it, therefore you are responsible for all the consequences of X.

Me: Persuading is not coercing. I presented X as an option and you chose to do X. Most or all of the consequences fall on you.

Oversimplified Cause Fallacy. Whether coerced or persuaded, you were only a factor in leading to the action. As one moves from "influencing" to "forcing," one becomes more of a direct cause and less of a influencing factor.

co·erce
kōˈərs/
verb
gerund or present participle: coercing
persuade (an unwilling person) to do something by using force or threats.
"it wasn't easy, but I persuaded him to do the right thing"

per·suade
pərˈswād/
verb
cause (someone) to do something through reasoning or argument.
"it wasn't easy, but I persuaded him to do the right thing"
synonyms:prevail on, coax, convince, get, induce, win over, bring around, coerce,

The words are synonyms Jacob. You admitted to persuading them to do something and persuade means to cause. So you were the cause of them doing it. It seems like this conversation has too many ambiguous premises.
Having said that, I'm thinking this is the "hanging around with too many people who are gullible or immature" fallacy..lol...I make up my own fallacies sometimes because I think Dr. Bo makes some up too. I mean, whoever heard of the "Dr. Bo is always right" fallacy?
Dr.Bo probably has something more productive to add, I'm just bored so I thought I'd engage in my own immature banter too...Btw, If your friend is a 6-year-old then it is definitely your fault they did what they did.

Would this also be an example of the oversimplified cause fallacy?

Doing your homework is a contributing factor to doing well on the test.
Therefore, if you don't do your homework, you will fail the test.
