People kill people not religion. Cigarettes only kill in self defense, if a person wouldn't set them on fire they wouldnt resort to revenge...ok not funny....but I tried

Of course, this is not an example of the Texas Sharp Shooter Fallacy, nor is it an example of ANY Logical Fallacy. Taken literally as stated, it is simply an example of rhetorical hyperbole. For those of you asserting it IS an example of the TSS Fallacy, I challenge you to explain your reasoning. (I think we’ve been getting a lot of ‘shoot from the hip’ fallacy calls recently without any back up, and IMOP, it detracts from the intellectual integrity of this forum.) |

I don't see how there is a fallacy, as there is no conclusion drawn. The data can certainly be checked, but I suspect first there would be agreement on how religion and cigarettes each "kill" people.
