Islamism confused/conflated with racism

What kind of logical fallacy is Greg's position below?

Sam: I'm against Islamism which is the ideology that imposes or tries to impose any version of Islam on society.
Greg: So basically you're against Islam. That makes you a racist!
Sam: No, I'm not against Islam. I'm against Islamism. This first is a religion, the second is a political ideology.
Greg: They're inseparable. Racist!

Is this a variation of the Strawman Fallacy? I keep seeing people who take Greg's position in this sort of discussion. It's a very powerful way to put people like Sam on the defensive.

Greg is simply misusing the term "racist." Neither religion nor political ideology is race.
