Original Question
I was reading a fashion magazine and I came across an advertisement for a hair dye company. The ad said "When it comes to colour... You're either glossing or you're fading." I was wondering if that statement was a logical fallacy.

1I guess I would need to know a bit more about hair biology to answer this. This reminds me of Ray Kroc's (founder of McDonald's) famous quote "When you're green your growing, when you're ripe, you rot." This implies two directions and no possibility for homeostasis (neither growing or rotting). I am not sure if I would call this a fallacy because philosophically it can be argued both ways. I would only call fallacy when a dichotomy is presented when there are clearly more choices. I don't know if hair can be in some kind of state where it is neither fading or glossing, but again, calling a fallacy on that one would seem a bit pedantic.
