Original Question
If someone is dealing with a mental illness or mental illnesses so debilitating that they can no longer function or do well and school or work and they are failing or getting fired, would it be an appeals to emotion for a parent or someone who is giving advice to say that they should just push it to the side and think about how they could go homeless if they don't do well. Or is it reasonable and the person should do all that they can until they can get the proper help.
