Is there a logical fallacy that is something akin to an appeal to the status quo? For example, something is right because most people have believed it for a long time?

Hello. Appeal to Popularity ad populum fallacy is similar.
Historically speaking the usual response is to tell someone to seek out the definition of appeal to tradition. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this tradition means that appeal to tradition is the right answer....I just think it's ironic...ok not really, just a bad attempt at levity...
