Are the brain and the mind different things?

Historical archive only. New interaction is disabled.

Original Question
As I see it, mind is a part of brain. Brain is physical part of our body so is the mind.

Brain receives information from various senses through chemical conduits and then processes it to create chemical output which can be called thought or mind. So thought/mind (chemical output) can be stored in brain temporarily/permanently and can be transmitted whenever required i.e. mind is a chemical output which is physically stored in brain. Therefore, brain and mind are NOT different things.

I wrote a chapter on this in my book, Reason, Books I & II.

There is spirit, mind, and body.
The brain is body. The mind reacts, and makes comments to communicate it's emotional response. . The spirit originates. It is source. It exists via participation, using the mind and the body to operate as a guest in the physical universe, but as a host in the spiritual universe, and knows it with certainty. As source, it considers, it creates, it makes
things happen. Ideally, it makes things go right for self and others. You, as a spirit, are your own higher power that can operate the mind and the body. Learning how to do that
effectively is the journey to power, and freedom, with a high level of responsibility, if you so choose. There are barriers, but there are always answers.
.
There are actually people who get a hemispherectomy , half the brain removed or "disconnected". It doesn't seem to affect memory or sense of humor. So therefore, the lion didn't need all of a brain to still be a talking lion...I could while away the hours.... if I only had a brain...ok I'm singing...Time to move on from theWiz, if ever a wiz there was.
