Original Question

You think about what MLK stood for,” Mr DeSantis said on 15 December. “He said he didn’t want people judged on the colour of their skin, but on the content of their character. You listen to some of these people nowadays, they don’t talk about that.”

Earlier this year, he claimed that the framework to address the legacies of slavery and racism in the US is “basically teaching kids to hate our country and to hate each other based on race.”

This is an opinion. DeSantis thinks that MLK wouldn't be happy with the way anti-racism campaigners are conducting themselves today.

Whether he's correct or not will depend on your political leanings, especially your attitude to 'race relations' in the US.
