Original Question
Hi Bo, You're great.
Which fallacies occurred below?
In a TV Programme one Argued:
"The age of the trees in the university where I teach is older than the age of the USA. That is why Iranians laugh at all the efforts of the USA to sanction or subvert Iran."
(Notes: The age of those trees = 64 Years!!!)

3Bo is great is not a fallacy. However, the example you gave is at best a Non-sequitur, and the least is that it is just a weak analogy.
In addition to the other comments, almost all murderers use toothpaste.
The age of the trees themselves would just be incorrect information.
Another poster had mentioned that it would be a non sequitur , but that is in fact a fallacy. The age of a country compared to a particular set of trees doesn't really have any bearing on the effectiveness of its foreign policy.
It is possible that this person was speaking figuratively - not literally saying that the age of the trees matter, but that Iran being a much older country gives some increased veracity to their claims. I might call that an argument from age .
